Faye forced her way through the crowd of the hallway, wincing lightly as a shoulder would barge into her’s or someone would accidentally step on her foot, well even if it were on purpose Faye would always regard it as an accident without a real reason behind it. Her footsteps quickened on the hard ground as she tried to find a quiet, or secluded place- what a miracle that would be in the hallways during lunch. Students of all kinds roamed the hallways, the nerds, loners and jocks, though some were alittle more quiet than others- bullying also played a big part in the crowds, perhaps that made it more intimidating in the mess of people.
Faye took a sharp turn left into a small dead end that lead towards the water fountain. No one was there so that was one relief. Leaning against the wall, her books clasped closely to her chest as she tried to bring her breathing back to its normal pattern. Faye liked to keep out of the way of most people, she didn’t feel it was necessarily to interfere with what looked like the natural order of the school.
Her long golden blonde hair was all down, falling past her shoulders and hanging loosely around her mid waist. Faye’s bangs only just slightly skimming above her light blue eyes that were framed in thick black eyelashes. She wore little make up around her eyes, her cheeks already had a natural pink tint to them and her lips were only slightly covered in a thin layer of gloss which she wore more to stop cracked lips that to appeal to others. Faye’s attire was very usual of her, a ruffled light pink lace skirt that exposed her slim long legs and plain white tank top with a thin long grey cardigan, on her feet with a plain pair of white shoes. Comfortable and not entirely ugly.
Now that Faye had found a place outside the crowd and potential ‘danger’ she would more likely stay there until the end of lunch unless it died down before then. She wasn’t a loner, Faye was just one to avoid any confrontation and paranoia played a big part in her life. Sighing, she made her way to the water fountain, throwing her bag to the side of her as she bent down, her left hand index finger pressed the little switch gently waiting for the water to run out from the top.
Faye looked at it hesitantly, about to drink from it she quickly stepped back, deciding maybe it would be safer to buy bottled water, plus the idea that several other students that she didn’t know would have had their mouths over that and so on and so forth. Her eyes looked back towards the busy hallway, she was considering going back out there and just facing it like everyone else could.
“Three…two….one…” Faye took a deep breath but as she took another step she took another two back. “Maybe I’ll just stay here alittle longer.”

People. So many people were around, babbling and talking loudly. Yep, defiantly after today, he would need to take some Advil or Ibuprofen. Alphonse sighed, knowing that while his headphones would drown out the obnoxious sounds around him, it would only make his headache worse. Why was he still so hot? Pulling off his sweatshirt, again, he stuffed it into his bag. Alphonse's left brow lifted. Maybe he had a rubber band or something in there.. Locating the nearest bench, he threw his black backpack onto an empty bench, and begun to dig through it.
Let's see here.. he thought to himself. Binder, pencil bag, manga that needs to be returned, MP3 Player, latest edition of Shounen Jump, a water bottle, Algebra Text book.. God, he had a lot of stuff. Yes! He had found a rubber band at the bottom of his bag. Alphonse sighed. Now he had to put it all back. First binder, than text book, than books, etc. Finally he swung it back over his back, and grabbed the ponytail holder-thingy. Putting it around his wrist, he put it in the first time, than the- God dammit. It snapped.
Fishing out his cellphone, he realized he still had awhile left before the period was over. What to do? He wasn't terribly hungry, but decided to get a drink of water. Maybe that that would help soothe his headache a little. Alphonse pulled out his water bottle from his bag, to only realize it was empty. Heading out towards the drinking fountain down the hall, Alphonse noticed a fairly nice-looking, blond girl wearing a pink skirt. He shivered. He had always hated the colour pink. It was so.. Nostalgic. He shrugged, and took his place behind the blond girl, wearing the nostalgic-coloured skirt. Other than the skirt, he did have to give her credit though. She had nice legs.
What the heck was she doing now? As soon as she was about to get a drink, she stopped, and began to count backwards. But that was only the beginning. She than began to step back-and-forth. Alphonse rolled his eyes. She was trying to decide where to go, here? Couldn't she do that five feet away where he could fill up his water bottle? Should he say something, or just let her do her thing, and hope that she'd move eventually. Alphonse decided to actually say something. Lunch period was shorter than the other classes, and he still would like to eat today.
"Hey, if you're not going to get a drink, could'ja move? I want to fill my water bottle." Alphonse asked. [/blockquote]

"Um, excuse me." and "Sorry!" and even "Ow, would you watch it? I'm still here!" were among many of the words spoken by Raven, drowned out by others' voices in the loud hallway that lunch period. It was crowded and incredibly loud, an instant headache for anyone there. It was even worse for Raven, though; being a good foot or two shorter and forty pounds lighter than most people, she found it hard to walk even five feet without being elbowed in the face or smashed into the wall by someone's books.
The girl maneuvered around a couple of seniors and weaved in between the typical lunchtime traffic. She was hungry. She had skipped breakfast that morning to check up on something online, and hadn't had time to eat ever since. A banana lay in the messenger bag slung around her shoulder, untouched and most likely brused, with a sketchbook and MP3 player among other things. If only she could get to that goddamn cafeteria. "Would you please move? I'm trying to get to lunch!" she stated to a boy ahead. He moved, albeit slowly, to the side and let her pass. Thank god.
Unfortunately, not everyone was that nice. Raven struggled to get through the crowd, having to even push herself through a few times. Others did that, too - or was it just another bully? Either way, it was hard to get through. Gripping the strap on her dark canvas bag she dodged a few people walking past, only to run into someone else. "Hey, watch it!" they responded with a shove, pushing her onto the floor with a dirty look and then walking away as if nothing happened to join their friends for lunch.
Well that was rude, thought Raven as she stood up and picked up a few things - some chapstick, her phone, a volume of Bleach and her hair ribbon - that fell. Her hair, now, too? Ribbon in mouth, Raven stepped aside to fix her hair. She pulled it up a few times, finding something wrong with each try and struggling to do a decent job without a mirror or hairbrush. Then, an idea - she could ask someone else to do it. Eyes glancing around that segment of the hallway for someone to ask, she wandered for a bit before settling on one. She was blonde, and her hair was up in a ponytail with a great amount of bangs in her eyes. Perfect.
Raven approached them with the ribbon and politely asked, "Excuse me, miss, could you put up my hair? I fell and it kinda got screwed up, so."

With no response from that girl in front of him, Alphonse impatiently waited. No foot tapping, though. It would only give Oliver and his obnoxious friends more stuff to tease him about. In fact, about ten minutes previous, he had been in an old fashioned game of "keep away". How joyous and incredibly irritating that had been. Looking at his nails, he realized that the paint was beginning to chip, and that he was out. Looks like another item would be going on "the list of stuff I have to get and drop off after work." Grabbing a pencil out of his bag, he quickly wrote polish on it, under milk and hair bands.
Out of the corner of his eye, Alphonse noticed that a smaller girl was trying to push her way through the crowd. He frowned. It was only two years ago when he himself was in that position. Yes, he hadn't really grown much since then- but it still sucked. He wore the same style of clothing, same quietness, same obsession with manga, and still gay. The only thing different was that his hair had grown since then. It had only been past his ears then. She was small, as mentioned before. But she also had dark hair. Almost like, a purply-black. It was pretty. She kept it in a pony tail, tied in a red ribbon.
It seemed she was having even more of a difficult time, seeing as that she nearly fell over a few times. Then, some douche-bag shoved her and glared at her. Alphonse shook his head. Why did seniors have to be so annoying and rude? Seeing that the girl was fine, he turned back to the girl in front of him. Was she ever going to decide? For god's sake. How hard is it to take a drink of water? he asked himself rudely. Maybe she's just an idiot.
"Excuse me, miss, could you put up my hair? I fell and it kinda got screwed up, so." A voice said behind him. Obviously, the voice belonged to a girl. Alphonse sighed. Should he turn around? As soon as he spoke, she would realize that he was indeed a man, and not a woman. If this is Oliver's doing, I swear I'm going to kick his ass. he said to himself. And knowing him, this is something he'd do. Tell an innocent girl to go ask "that blond" with her hair. He decided to just turn around, and said, "sorry, I don't do girl's hair." Faye stood in awkwardly, her slightly fear of crowds had always pulled her back from the real potential she didn’t even know yet. Rotating her ankle side to side as if she was rubbing something into the floor with her shoe but more or less trying to pass the time until the bell rang, Faye would have hardly expected anyone to come to the fountain. The fountain wasn’t well known for its hygiene and there was cheap bottled water in the cafeteria which granted you didn’t know where it came from it still must have been just the little bit better than the school’s pipes.
This is why the voice behind her was a shock, a shock big enough to make her jump and almost fall, but luckily for her Faye’s hands caught the edge of the fountain as she quickly regained herself. “I’m sorry I didn’t see you there.” Her pale blue eyes looked back as a nervous laugh escaped her lips and her cheeks blushed a light pink, not that she thought they were attractive but more to the fact she had just embarrassed herself severely. “I’ll just…” Faye didn’t finish her sentence, instead she moved to the side, picking up her bag in one swift motion.
At a glance Faye would have to admit that the guy did have a very androgynous look to him, that’s assuming he was a guy, but Faye didn’t like to judge, it was better to just ‘ avoid, avoid, avoid’ then you got in no ones way. The senior now noticed another walking towards the fountain, she was small was big bright eyes and black hair. Faye watched her carefully, not wanting to intervene as she walked up to the guy asking him for help…with her hair. The senior covered her mouth slightly to try and hide what giggle managed to escape, though if the guy was a girl Faye would have managed to embarrass herself again.
His reaction wasn’t all that Faye had hoped for, it was common decency to at least try was it not? And then if all else fails then give up? But then again she had regarded him as a ‘girl’. “Guys aren’t usually good with hair but their own.” Faye giggled as she walked over to the younger girl, a warm smile on her face. It was common instinct for Faye to want to help someone, especially someone younger and so small.
“Here let me help.” Faye placed her bag to her side once again, slowly reaching her delicately gentle hands to the girls hair, tugging it all lightly into one before wrapping it around the middle with the ribbon securely. “There you go, hope that’s okay.” Faye took a step back, observing her handy work before turning to the guy.
“You could learn from this, you’d look lovely in ribbons too.” Faye laughed innocently, whilst bending back down to hang her bag on her shoulder. The bag was heavy enough to make Faye seem alittle lopsided but it was light enough for her to carry around all day which was decent for her.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Sorry, I don't do girl's hair."
Raven surpressed a gasp at the sound of the boy's voice; it was actually pretty manly. And for a reason, too. "Wha-? But that means, oh. OH," she giggled a bit, rubbed her neck, and flushed a bright red. "Okay, then! Sorry." Well, she - no, he - looked like a girl, so was it really her fault that she mistook him for one? It was an easy mistake to make. Deeply embarassed, Raven pulled back her hand with the ribbon and held it tightly.
Well, then, that was awkward, she thought as her face returned to its natural peachy tone. She smiled, quickly changing the topic. "In that case, hiya! I'm Raven." She looked around, praying that no one had just noticed that she confused someone's gender, even if their appearance was misleading. Waiting for a reply the girl averted her bright eyes, noticing a blonde girl - for sure, this time.
- - - - - - - “Guys aren’t usually good with hair but their own.”
"Hah, I guess," Raven smiled. The girl took the ribbon and, very gently, tied her hair. It was kind of her. She thanked the blonde with a smile and nod before returning to the boy, then studied his hair. It was. well, light colored, and the fact that the hairband in it was old and on its last string told Raven that he needed more.
"You need hairbands? she innocently asked him before impulsively reaching into a pocket of her messenger bag and pulling out a fistful of multicolored rubber bands. Those would work, wouldn't they? Ven offered them to him as the girl spoke again, this time about the boy wearing her ribbons. Giggling a bit, Raven added, "I guess you would!" She then turned towards the girl and, with a cheery smile, introduced herself.
"Hi, I'm Raven. And you are...?" Waiting once again, she stepped to the side and took a quick drink of water. It was cold, somewhat rusty-tasting, but still refreshing; it sprayed a bit on the front of Raven's jacket, causing her to frown and blot it with a tissue as she stood near the two others and waited for a reply.

“I’m sorry I didn’t see you there.” Alphonse was surprised. He is the type of person who sticks out, whether he likes it or not. Given his appearance, he thought that she would have at least noticed. But whatever. He quickly uncapped his water bottle, and filled it to the top. Taking a swig of it, he realized that the water had a bit of a rusty taste, just the way he liked it. He made sure the bottle was dry, before sticking it back into his bag. The blond teen wiped his mouth on his arms. Had they always been so skinny? Like the rest of his skin, Alphonse was naturally pale. But seriously, he had really skinny arms.
“Guys aren’t usually good with hair but their own.” This was true. He had never really been good with hair. Especially with his own. Not that there were too many hairstyles for him to choose from anyway.. It was either down or up. And either one he'd get picked on for anyways. So, it never really mattered much to him anyway. Alphonse eyed the other girl suspiciously. Was she just an idiot, or was she playing dumb in order for Oliver to have some new material? God knows that he was starting to run out of original ones.
"You need hairbands?" she asked him. Apparently, her name was Raven. Alphonse shrugged. Did he? Yes, he was running out. But why would she want to help him? Didn't she know anything? The other kids would tease her for the rest of the school year if they caught her helping, or being nice to him. From what he could tell, this Raven-chick wasn't someone the Seniors knew. “You could learn from this, you’d look lovely in ribbons too.” the other girl said. Alphonse rolled his eyes. Eh, this was too much annoyance for him for one day.
He then realized that Raven had been holding several multicoloured hairbands. Touching his own hair band, Alphonse knew that he was low on them. Hence the reason he was going to the store after work and the library. He shook his head. "Hi, I'm Raven. And you are...?" This question took him a bit by surprise. Usually no kid wanted to even be recognized as a person who talked to Alphonse Morbeck. Obviously, Oliver's influence was all over that.
"Alphonse Morbeck." he replied. He chose a blue coloured band, and put it around his wrist. He pulled out the old one, and threw it in the trash, exposing his long blond hair for more than a moment. Within moments, the blond hair was in one hand, and bound by the hair band. "Thanks." he added. [/blockquote]

Faye gave the girl one more smile, she was adorable to say the least but Faye was the type to think anything smaller than her was cute. Maybe it was her nurturing side that took over. Watching them both very carefully, she noticed the interest in the girl’s eyes as she looked over to the guy whom she had suspected to be a woman. Biting down on her bottom lip Faye tried to resists herself from laughing anymore, laughing at someone could be interpreted as rude and she didn’t want to be seen as rude. It was just karma for you.
Turning back to the hallway, the crowd was slowly decreasing, a good sign. Maybe Faye would be able to get to class early and have a chat with the teacher before everyone else arrived, it was a lot nicer without the noise of her class and the conversations were always a lot more matured- of course not in the rude sort of a mature but sophisticated. Faye shook her head lightly and turned back to the people that had become new to her. ’ Maybe I should try to make friends? ‘ Her thoughts clouded the image of getting to class early.
Raven? Faye nodded, the name suited her well, it suited her hair color at least, and the brightly colored eyes were somewhat like a bird but not as harsh, more friendly than most. Unfortunately Faye couldn’t say the same for the guy, though he had effeminate features, he was way too…cold to be given the anything similar to friendly or warm- but they had only just met and she had hogged the water fountain for a good deal of time. “See someone agrees.” Faye frowned noticing him roll his eyes. Typical of his type to not appreciate a joke or any kindness.
Faye instantly mentally smacked herself, She didn’t enjoy judging people before she got to know them but sometimes certain things just start them off and there is no use stopping them. Sighing, Faye forced on a smile, one that wasn’t totally obvious to be fake. “Faye Skye.” she added after Alphonse, watching him as he pulled up his hair, despite his previous actions, he did have pretty hair for a boy.
Pulling her bag around her middle some, unzipping it. Faye pulled out an apple, resting against the wall she took a bite. It didn’t look as if she was going to get to the cafeteria before the bell and this seemed like a perfectly good place to eat whilst she waited. Occasionally glancing at the two, she had recognised them from around school but never bothered to speak with them and now she didn’t know why, the girl seemed perfectly friendly and the guy…well he wasn’t bad, just alittle rude.
“…Nice weather eh?”
Faye’s ‘’Make friends!’ plan was heading to the gutter along with her conversation skills.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Alphonse Morbeck."
"Oh; nice to meet you," said Raven, thinking hard about where she had heard that name from. Around school, obviously, but where? Was he president of some kind of club? Had he done something terrible in the past few months, like vandalism or something? Nah, those just didn't seem to fit. Finally she settled on that he was just 'that guy', the one that no one really hung out with if they had a choice. Bright eyes looking him over, the girl came to the conclusion that he just didn't like people too much. That's what his attitude showed, at least.
Retracting the hairband-filled hand, Raven shoved the multicoloured rubber rings into a pocket of her messenger bag where they would most likely stay for a few years. It was a Mary Poppins' bag of sorts; stuff always went in, to either be forgotten or swallowed up in the abyss. Whenever she needed something, though, the odds were that it was there. With that thought she gasped, shoving a hand into the main pocket and pulling out a banana on a whim. She then grinned, peeled it, and took a small bite.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Faye Skye."
Faye Skye. What a beautiful name, thought Raven as she swallowed a bit of banana. She took another bite, watching the other girl casually pull out some fruit and begin to eat. Practically everyone was eating, Raven noticed, and she couldn't help but wonder if it was even allowed or not. Wasn't there a rule about not eating on the carpeted areas?
She lost her train of thought as Faye commented about the weather. Yes, it was really nice! Raven peered around a particularily tall freshman at a window, the sun streaming in and hitting everything in its view. She had to squint to look directly at it, actually, despite the fact that it was nearly twenty feet away. It was then that she noticed that the halls were clearing. That's great, thought Raven, but actually this is kinda fun. She decided to remain in the hallway until people began coming up, until history class. Her favorite. The girl smiled, nodded, and replied, "Yep! Sunny. I can't wait to get outside after school."

"Oh; nice to meet you," that Raven-girl had said. Hmm, another human being at this god-damned school? How unusual.. Alphonse looked at the sophomore suspiciously. Who was she? She was pretty, and she was nice. How was she not one of Oliver's friends? Or even Summer Rain's? Their influence was quite powerful..
This was beginning to feel a little awkward. Two girls, one older and the other younger than he. They seemed to be getting along fine. There was no reason for him to be there anymore. He glanced at the clock. Ten minutes left before sixth period begun. If he left now, he'd have time to actually have some lunch. Alphonse's stomach growled a little, realizing he was a little hungry. He eyed Raven's banana. That looked good.. Within moments, the banana disappeared, leaving the blond haired boy hungrier. Desperate, he looked through his bag again. Damn, nothing! Of all the crap to keep in there, no food? Alphonse made a mental note to himself: pack a snack tomorrow..
“…Nice weather eh?”
Alphonse shrugged. It was alright, he supposed. It would be nice if the damn school would turn on the air conditioning. They either were trying to conserve their money for stuff they really didn't need, or the air was on and it desperately needed to be fixed. Damn cheap bastards..
Around them, Alphonse noticed the halls beginning to clear. He looked at the clock again. Five to one. He decided it was time to leave for English, one of his favourite classes. If he left now, he would be able to get a good seat, away from the obnoxious popular kids whom talked all the time, and picked on others before class started. His favourite spot was next to the window, on the far left, in the third row back. He could heard the teacher perfectly, but it was still far enough away where he could read and study in peace. It was like paradise for fifty-three minutes. Much better than Study Hall..
Alphonse sighed. It looks like he wasn't going to have lunch today. It had been spent in his head, and listening to the conversation of two girls who most likely found him to be a quiet, cynical douche-bag. Either that, or they were thinking, "who is this kid anyway? I've never seen him before.." Alphonse shrugged. He didn't care, or, not really anyway. He had better things to do with his time than to be upset about some random girl who thought he was a girl, and asked to help fix her hair. Though it was embarrassing. Really embarrassing.. He just thanked god Oliver or his friends hadn't been here to see it. He wouldn't be able to live it down. God only knows Alphonse was already teased and picked on enough already.

Faye nodded slowly, her eyes seemed bright and interested is what the two had to say but in actual fact she just wanted to get out, of course she loved company but felt that company is not what they wanted, or at least wasn’t what one wanted. Faye wasn’t one to stick around somewhere knowing that her presence wasn’t appreciated- it’s just now all seemed be corned by a rush of adolescents that were all too violent for their own good.
The whole situation felt like a stranded island, three people all that don’t necessarily get on and it only takes a few days, more minutes in this case for one to go mad and swim of the island and again in this case the island was this small area near the water fountain and the rough sea’s was the nonstop people- one of them was going to crack, perhaps it could even be Faye. Her eyes travelled between the two, Raven first, the petite girl who seemed overly joyful. Then they fell on the guy, the complete opposite. Raven and Alphonse together made a perfect oxymoron.
Taking another small bite of her apple, the crisp texture and sweet taste filled her mouth as she slowly chewed, her mouth shut obviously, she detested anyone who ate so vulgarly with food so much that it would put her off her own, not that Faye ever brought much food apart from a few apples and occasionally a yoghurt, usually Greek with a splash of honey and almonds. If you were what you ate Faye would be fruity, sweet and…Greek? Faye shrugged the irrelevant thoughts away; it wasn’t giving her much help in making friends. Maybe they were both too different?
No-no, nobody was too different to not attempt to make friends. Faye took one last bite of her apple, walking into the small plastic bin to the very far side of the little side corridor they were stood in, she popped it in, grimacing as the scent of bins reached her senses. Tugging at the hem of her top to stop wrinkles forming and to make sure she didn’t see any mess from her food land upon her unwontedly.
“It is nice…” Faye began, though the question did leave her lips she never really considered the weather in her head, so her voice sounded more surprised than agreeing.
Faye tapped her bottom lips, thinking over things she could say but nothing. She was a little annoyed still that the guy was so quiet and rude, but then again. Faye looked over to Raven who seemed to show a very keen interest in Alphonse, perhaps not in an intimate kind of way but just general interest that Faye lacked herself. Faye was sometimes quiet and because of that she had never seen herself to be interesting either so why should her opinions change? Interesting people were those willing to stand out from the crowd whether they were being bullied or not.
“You guys should come to the café just down the street from here, frozen yoghurt and ice cream special.” Faye knew this because she worked there part-time as a waitress and most sunny or hot days they’d drop prices or make deals, plus this was her way of reaching out in a friendly manner if they didn’t want to they didn’t have too. Faye noticed the hallway thinning down, walking back to her back she threw it back over her shoulder and adjusted its weight to a balanced level this way Faye was sure she wouldn’t be leaning back to much neither leaning forward. Looking towards the other two she waited, leaving now would be rude and it was safe just in case she managed to see something interesting or pleasant. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
